N of 1 ("we," "our," or "the app") is a personal self-experimentation tool. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. We do not sell your data.
Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address, which is used solely to authenticate you and send you transactional emails (e.g., magic-link sign-in).
Profile preferences. We store the preferences you set in the app: your display name, morning and evening reminder times, habit anchors, and notification preferences. This information is used to personalize your experience and send you reminders.
Trial data. Each time you submit a daily check-in, we store the data you enter for the trial category you selected. This may include sleep, energy, mood, anxiety, headache, adherence, and optional notes. Some trials also include before-and-after questionnaires. We also store your trial start date, phase, and completion status. This is the core data the app exists to collect — it is used to generate your personal trial results.
Ratings and comments. If you rate a trial or leave a comment after completing it, we store that rating and comment. Ratings and comments may be shown in the trial library without your account identifier.
Push notification token. If you enable notifications, we store your device's push notification token so we can send you reminders. This token is associated with your account and is not shared with third parties.
Error diagnostics. If error reporting is enabled, technical error details may be sent to our error-monitoring provider to help us diagnose crashes and bugs. We do not use third-party analytics, track your behavior for advertising, or share usage data with advertisers.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Your data is shared only in the following limited circumstances:
Community results shown in the trial library are aggregated and contain no account identifiers. Trial comments you choose to submit may be shown as written.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data (check-ins, trial runs, profile) will be deleted within 30 days. Aggregated, anonymized data may be retained.
N of 1 is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Data at rest is protected by Supabase's infrastructure security. Row-level security policies ensure that users can only access their own data.
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
